Fundraising

In order that we may reach our goal, we will require funding for drugs, equipment and providing medical training. We have already begun to approach corporate organisations and other possible sources to investigate the feasibility of securing donations and sponsorship. We hope that the strategies we will have in place for publicity (outlined below) will provide potential donors with sufficient recognition to justify contributions they may wish to provide. We feel that sponsors and donors would benefit greatly from being attributed to a humanitarian project with positive publicity within the medical community. Identifying fundraising targets and planning for individual fundraising events in London will begin in October.

Publicity

St. George’s, University of London has a strongly established historical and professional reputation within the local community, London area and nationwide. We therefore feel that our affiliation with the University will provide substantial opportunities for publicising our organisation.

Given our position within the University, we hope to raise the profile of our organisation by publishing information in our University Newsletter and the Student British Medical Journal, a national publication distributed to all medical students in the UK. Our website will provide further opportunity for raising the profile of our organisation, providing information regarding our aims and background, and publicising and recognising our donors. We also aim to use the website to share and manage information and as a communication tool for everyone involved with HPN.
